Investigating RPiPlay — Apple Airplay on Fedora Linux

As a graduate student during COVID-19 some of my classes were online. I found it difficult to share my iPad screen over web conferences. At that time, I did not want to install Zoom because of the numerous security vulnerabilities. Furthermore, the feature of casting my iPad screen was exclusive to Zoom. If I wanted to share my screen in other applications such as Microsoft Teams or Google Meet — I needed an alternative. Over the course of a couple months, I researched and tested multiple methods to cast my iPad screen. This blog post is the fruits of my labor.

How To Exit Emergency Mode Without Root Password On Linux

I recently had the pleasure of having my laptop reboot into emergency mode after I hard powered it off. The passwords I tried did not work nor could not remember my root password. Hopefully this guide will be helpful for me in the future or for any poor soul who is locked out of emergency mode.

While setting this up blog, I had issues changing the favicons for my website. I tried a web search of jekyll blog how to change favicon for guides on how to change the favicons for pages hosted through github pages. Of the guides from the search, many recommended using a RealFaviconGenerator.

Generating The Total Nutritional Content For a Week

During a conversation with one of my friends, I showed them some of my work with analyzing the protein content of various meats and vegetables. After seeing the analysis, they asked me if I would be interested in analyzing the total caloric intake for a week's worth of meals.

Verifying a 3 Meter Walk

In my research with the Neuroscience of Dance in Health and Disability Laboratory, I was tasked with verifying that the recorded section of motion capture data of the participant had truely traveled 3 meters. We chose 3 meters as it is the best sampled portion of the walk for analysis and was consistent with past studies. I wrote this in hopes that this would be used in future studies so that a researcher would not need to calculate by hand when verifying and picking a section of the recording.
